Alphacare Northwest
Alphacare was founded in April 2003 in Liverpool.
The agency was originally created to provide the NHS with a cohort of experienced and appropriately trained nurses, and care staff and support workers for placements in secure psychiatric units. This was where the high standards for previous experience were set; they are still maintained throughout the organisation.
With all of our clients, we endeavour to keep them safe and to fulfil their potential as circumstances will allow.
The company has adapted to the changing face of healthcare and now, as well as the provision of specialist staff to the secure psychiatric sector, we have a large domiciliary care element to the company. We supply high quality staff to support clients with a wide ranging needs in their own homes. This can range from minimal support with cooking and cleaning to more intensive care, for instance following discharge from hospital or caring for terminally ill clients.
We do not believe in sitting still at Alphacare! We are constantly monitoring the changing healthcare environment and developing services to fit it. At the moment we have a complex care strand under development which will include developing packages for vulnerable individuals with mental health issues, including personality disorder or challenging behaviour, and offering specialist services for women and vulnerable groups such as individuals with a history of drug misuse. This will enable clients to be supported in their daily lives or perhaps when they are discharged from hospital. We plan to support these packages with specialist training delivered internally from external experts, enabling clients to live safely and inclusively in the community.
Our Support Workers in the community will liaise with Social Workers, Community Nurses and other involved healthcare professionals as required, and will attend care program approach and multi disciplinary approach meetings if necessary.
