Design Engineer - Fantastic Opportunity
Salary - £18 - £25k dependent on experience plus other benefits
Deeside, North Wales
My client is a ISO9001 certified manufacturing company based in North Wales, near Chester. For over 85 years the company has produced tow brackets and towing equipment, with worldwide distribution and usage. The company is also one of the top manufacturers of boat trailers - from small boats to fifth wheel multi-axle trailers.
The candidate must be highly motivated for a challenging role - working with designs from concept, to prototype, to testing and certification through to production. In addition, the candidate must be able to communicate not only across the organization, but interact professionally with customers. From theoretical engineering skills and practical application to visiting the customers and R&D. There is certainly a diverse range of tasks, with opportunities for job satisfaction.
Skills Required
*CAD - preferably with 3d modelling experience
*Good Computer Skills - Windows / Word / Excel / Outlook
*Basic Metal Workshop skills (Machining and welding)
Skills Preferred - but not essential
*HND / Degree Standard Mechanical Engineering
*Sage Line 100 / Bill of Materials (Infor32 / InforSwan)
*Knowledge of 94/20 construction and use regs
*Basic Knowledge of CNC and advanced production techniques
*Experience of towing equipment or trailer design
Key Functions
*Design Towing brackets, related towing equipment and marine trailers
*Assist in the manufacture of prototypes, welding / assembly fixtures and fatigue rig support equipment
*Operate fatigue test rig
*Liaise with outside bodies (VCA and Customers) on testing, performance and design issues
*Support sales team with technical advice
