Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability and delivery schedule. Determines method of purchase, such as direct or brokered. Manages suppliers to price, delivery and quality expectations.
Orders, reschedules and cancels materials based on schedule, requisitions or MRP output. May plan, schedule and monitor movement of materials through the production cycle. Interfaces with suppliers and customers (internal) to secure both delivery and the best market price.
Expected to go to China 4 times a year for 1-2 weeks.
