  • Full Description:

    Following its successful Big Lottery Award, Liverpool Youth and Play Service is seeking to recruit full time Play Practitioners. The posts will be based in full time, open access play projects, with the Practitioners having responsibility for play (open access) and its development across the neighbourhood. Primary duties will include:
    • Managing a full time open access play facility and its direct work with children 5-15.
    • Responsibility for the active promotion and development of challenging and creative play opportunities throughout the neighbourhood.
    • Promotion and development of inclusive play opportunities and of children's participation through play across the neighbourhood.
    • Applicants will be expected to demonstrate their understanding of the notion of 'Acceptable Risk in Play' and of the working practices which underpin this.
    • Applicants will be expected to undertake evening and weekend work.
    • Applicants should be qualified to NVQ3 (Playwork) or equivalent, as a minimum.

    All posts are fixed term until June 2010.
