Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will be supporting, managing and leading the fundraising team in the compilation of funding applications and tender responses; providing effective publicity and communication about the organisation ' work and compile written responses to consultation documents. Other duties will include representing senior managers at relevant meetings and to liase appropriately with other agencies;
Contributing to the planning and delivery of services, allowing the client's wishes to be considered.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE;
*Developing, implementing and monitoring the organisation's
development, fundraising and communications strategy.
*Maintaining the organisation's existing tendering, bidding and fundraising programme and researching new methods of generating income.
*To disseminate national policy developments throughout the organisation and provide written responses to consultation documents.
*Working with other staff and external agencies to produce communications and publicity materials and disseminate them.
*Develop and implement a communications strategy to include updating the web site, producing a regular newsletter and providing appropriate press releases.
*To develop regular fundraising and communications plans and monitor progress.
*Undertake research on relevant opportunities and funding streams for the charity and in response to specific tendering rounds, according to the requirements of the strategic plan
*To research and assess the feasibility of new methods of generating income such as corporate fundraising, major gifts work or direct mail.
*Working with the Development Team to prepare, write and submit high quality and timely bids and tenders for new and existing funding, business and projects as agreed with the Chief Executive ad the Senior Management Team
*To provide summary guidance and other information of tendering and funding rounds, to ensure that all submissions are up to date with national policy and to enable others to understand the opportunities and requirements of funding streams and specific tendering rounds.
*To work with the fund raising team to develop an effective event programme.
*To ensure effective distribution of publicity and communications.
*Take a proactive approach to developing the organisation's marketing activities.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
*Educated to Advanced level with knowledge of project costing.
*Knowledge of child care policy and practice, social work practice and child protection procedures.
*Knowledge of the principles of anti-discriminatory practice and equal opportunities.
*Knowledge of health, welfare and educational systems as they impact on children and young people.
*Knowledge of current social policy and legislation in relation to children and young people.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE;
* Experience of preparing concise, accurate and coherent written information and reports.
* Experience of bid writing, costing, business development and fundraising.
*Experience of undertaking detailed background research in support of written reports or bids.
*Experience in consulting and networking with a wide range of individuals and agencies.
*Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, including preparing persuasive arguments and cases for business projects and grants.
*Ability to assess and summarise accurately and concisely.
*Good level of numeracy and understanding of budgeting and costing for projects and tenders.
*Ability to research and assimilate detailed information.
*The ability to create innovative approaches to consultation, and development.
*The ability to work to deadlines and within agreed timescales.

*Possess a driving licence and have access to the regular use of a motor vehicle.
